OMG A SHINY Pokémon OMG OMG OMG
His earliest memory is of being inside of a metal box. Everything was cold. There was no padding on the floor, and the lack of heat made it difficult for the cold blooded creature to stay awake. The cold device around its neck was uncomfortable and felt restrictive. It could not move its head very much.
He remembers the room was not still. It rumbled, it bumped, and if the tiny little trapinch tried to stand up it would roll over.
That's when he learned he had a power inside of him. Its mouth opened, and out of it shot a stream of colorful bright purple breath, which opened a hole inside of the box.
It rolled its way out of the truck, unharmed.
From there, the Trapinch found a cave. It could get away from the forest, and dig its way into the dirt to keep itself safe and find its own little territory.
The Trapinch managed to find a home for itself. If it felt threatened it could dug into the dirt to hide, but it also had enough power to fight back against the Pokémon that approached it.
It had found a place for itself, but it still wasn't perfect. The collar around its next still restricted its movement, and was a constant source of problems. If only it could move his head more, then it would be easier to defend himself, to attack, to dig, to walk around.
Out of the corner of his eye, a trainer sees a Trapinch. A Trapinch, a rare Pokémon on its own, which is green.
Upon being noticed, the Trapinch starts digging into the ground, but a flood of water washes it away from the hole and makes it fall onto its back. Rather panicked, it flails around unable to get up. This is when the boy unlatches the collar.
The Trapinch was free to move around. Using its large head, was able to turn its neck and fall over back onto its feet.
It was freed?
It couldn't understand what the trainer boy was saying, but the water Pokémon that had prevented him from digging could talk. His name was Honoa, and aparently the boy was his "trainer", or caretaker, and the boy was offering to take care of the Trapinch as well. He would have plenty of food, and wouldn't have to fight for territory.
Not against the idea, it agreed, and was caught in a Pokéball.
Quickly after, he became able to understand human language. Being caught was somehow the most freeing thing that had ever happened to the small Trapinch. He was able to move around his head, though it felt difficult because of how long he had been locked up. The boy taught him how to control his powers, what they were, and that he could evolve into a levitating Pokémon. A dragon with fierce power.
Other humans fawned over him. They fawned over his powers, over his big snapping jaws and determined eyes, but there was also something different: His color.
He learned he was not the same color as other members of his species. He saw a picture of another Trapinch. Something that looked like him, but it was the wrong color. He had never seen an orange Trapinch, and felt confused learning that he was the odd one.
He was in a cage because of his color.
He spoke frequently with Silklay. She was the most knowledgeable about the world, as well as their trainer, and easily broke difficult concepts down for him. She was understanding and encouraging and energetic, something that soothed the Trapinch.
He also got along most with Banco. She was very used to taking care of young Pokémon and would sleep with him curled up in her leaves if it was possible. He liked the rest of the team, but would sometimes get overwhelmed by them, and felt like he couldn't keep up.
Flying was undeniably a good thing, but he couldn't help but be intimidated by the whole prospect. Especially when it came to battling. Sometimes, he just wanted to dig into the dirt and stay there. He was so used to being so little, so close to the ground, with everything towering above him, it was scary to do anything other than crawl.
Despite his fears, though, the orange Vibrava was determined to learn not only how to fly, but eventually to evolve into a Flygon. Gold and the rest of his team were happy to help him in whatever way they could.
Banco helped him the most when it came to learning his flying powers. He would crawl onto her head on the ground, and then she would lift it high into the air where he would practice being in the air for a few moments, and gliding back down onto the ground. They would repeat this process over and over.
Sometimes Gold would do a similar activity to Banco, where he would pick up the Vibrava and throw him, then Konkurs would have to spin in circles a few times before landing. Usually, though, Gold was more focused on teaching Konkurs on how to use the new Dragon Type he had gained upon evolution.
Konkurs also trained with Drugia once or twice, which was very helpful since they were the same size and flew very similarly.
He felt most confident flying indoors where there was a ceiling. It became rather easy for him to levitate while on the ship to Kanto, because it would avoid the swaying that came with the boat. He became even more comfortable with flying over standing.
A big scary beast. He feels most natural in this form, most like himself.
Inside, sometimes he still feels like that little Trapinch inside of a cage. He overcompensates for this feeling through becoming stronger, learning more attacks, and learning how to hit harder. He's definitely Gold's most aggressive Pokémon, most eager to fight, most determined win in battles. If Gold were less talented at battling, it's likely he would misbehave during battle, doing whatever attacks he felt were better for winning.
Konkurs is suspicious and slow to trust, and consequencially is difficult to make friends with. He has no reservations with letting others know he doesn't like them, and can be feircly competative with stronger Pokemon, especially other Dragon Types.Konkurs is suspicious and slow to trust with new people, and is difficult to make friends with. He only gets along with Gold and his team, and can be feircly competative with other Pokemon, especially other Dragon Types. He's very protective of his teammates, but doesn't like saying it out loud.
